Our team, Chip, Reed, David, and Cole, had a great time at Night Out with MOCSA, celebrating 50 years of impact in Kansas City! This year’s theme, “The Gold Standard Since 1975,” perfectly captured MOCSA’s legacy of supporting survivors and strengthening our community. Here’s to the next 50 years of making a difference together.

CAC’s Burger & Cheers to 30 Years

Our paralegal, Christy, joined the celebration at the Child Advocacy Center’s Burgers & Cheers to 30 Years event, a throwback party “like it’s 1995!” The evening brought together hundreds from the community for burgers, beer, and live music from Fly2K and Isaac Kenneth, all in support of 30 incredible years of protecting kids.

Donuts for a Cause

Our marketing team stopped by MOCSA to deliver a check from our Donuts for a Cause fundraiser with Donutology! During the campaign, Monsees & Mayer and Donutology each donated a portion of every box sold to support MOCSA’s work with survivors. A sweet way to make a difference!

Back-to-School Giveaway

We celebrated a local teacher with $200 in school supplies as part of our Back-to-School Giveaway. It’s our small way of supporting the vital work educators do every day for students in our community!

Advocating for Survivors in Jefferson City

Our attorney, Bobby Thrasher, traveled to the Missouri State Capitol to support survivors testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on SB 589 and SB 590. These survivor-focused bills aimed to expand access to justice in childhood sexual abuse cases, and Bobby was there to stand alongside those working for meaningful change.

Young Lawyer of the Year

Our attorneys celebrated with Reed Martens at the 52nd Annual Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference in Nebraska City, where he was honored as Young Lawyer of the Year by the KCMBA. This award recognizes lawyers under 36 who demonstrate excellence in civic leadership, professionalism, innovation, and public service,  a well-deserved accolade for Reed!

On April 5th, our team wore teal for the Day of Action, showing support for survivors of sexual harassment and abuse. Teal, the color of sexual violence prevention, helped us raise awareness and spark important conversations in our community.
